AT&T announces new Freeman cell site
As part of its continuing network investment to support growing demand for advanced mobile devices and applications, AT&T announced last month the activation of a new mobile broadband cell site near Freeman that will enhance coverage for area residents and businesses along M-2 Highway west of Harrisonville.
The new cell site is one part of AT&Ts ongoing efforts to drive investment and innovation to deliver the nations best, most advanced mobile broadband experience for customers. With the nations fastest mobile broadband network, AT&T provides accelerated mobile data speeds and simultaneous voice and data capabilities.
Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience. Were always looking for new opportunities to provide enhanced coverage, and our investment in the local wireless network is just one way were accomplishing that, said Nancy Garvey, vice president and general manager for AT&Ts Greater Midwest Region.
In addition, our recently announced agreement to acquire T-Mobile USA will strengthen and expand our network. If approved, this deal means that well be able to expand the next generation of mobile broadband 4G LTE from our current plan of 80 percent of the U.S. population to more than 97 percent.
AT&T invested more than $525 million in our wireless and wireline networks in the Kansas City area from 2008 through 2010, part of a total investment of nearly $2.3 billion in Missouri and Kansas combined.
Those investments have helped ensure AT&T has the fastest mobile broadband network and the fewest dropped calls in the Kansas City area, the firm said.
We appreciate AT&Ts ongoing commitment to provide the regions fastest mobile broadband service, said Missouri State Rep. Rick Brattin of Harrisonville.
This new cell site helps ensure that residents and businesses in Cass County will remain connected to each other though better call reliability and faster data speeds. And that improves both quality of life and economic competitiveness in this area.
