Honoring the fallen

Under a perfect autumn sky, Cass County honored fallen U.S. Army Cpl. Jacob Carver Saturday morning on the Historic Square in Harrisonville.

As the centerpiece of the Burnt District Festival Parade, the ceremony proved emotional for family members of the Freeman soldier, who died in Afghanistan last November, and onlookers alike.
