Santa's upcoming appearances detailed

December 2, 2011

Santa continues to make the rounds of Cass County communities the next couple of weeks before retiring to the North Pole for final preparations. On Monday, Nov. 28, he performed his annual duties at the Belton Mayor's Christmas Tree Lighting.

This Saturday, Dec. 3, Santa will arrive in a red convertible for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony at Harrisonville’s Marler-Wirt-Allen Park, corner of Mechanic and Independence streets, at 5 p.m. There will be goody bags for the first 100 children.

At 6 p.m. Dec. 3 in Peculiar, Santa will arrive at Friendship Hall on a West Peculiar Fire Protection District truck for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting.

The festivities will include a school choir, as well as refreshments and visits with Santa inside Friendship Hall following the lighting.

Next Saturday, Dec. 10, the man in red will visit Garden City for the Lions Club’s annual tree lighting ceremony. A hayride and caroling will take place at 5:30 p.m., followed by the lighting at 6:30, Santa and musical entertainment at 7.

The event will be held at the Community Building.
