December 9 Letter to the Editor
Dear Editor: I just read with interest the letter written by Debbi Lehr in Your View concerning Congresswoman Hartzler's mass-produced letter. The statement at the end it makes it look like she just doesnt get it. But then again, maybe she just really doesnt get it.
I have been trying to get this message over to the 4th District voters for 10 months. I wrote our tea party Congresswoman an email Oct. 4 asking her if she would give up her pledge to Grover Norquist (Remember this name all through the next year and search him out.) She said she would write back, but as of Dec. 1, the letter has not made it to me.
I have read a letter from Representative Hartzler written to another postal worker, and believe me, she has no clue what she was saying about the postal service. Having over 34 years in the postal service, I think I could write better articles and letters about the service that people have been trying to destroy over many years. Do you think our Congresswoman really cares?
In 10 months she has submitted four bills, none have come out of committee. She has co-sponsored other bills, the majority being the theme of abortion only. But she also knows how to vote to keep big oil subsidies, subsidies to farmers, tax breaks for the wealthy and the other day she put forth a bill that would try to destroy the Dodd-Frank bill of over sight on large and small financial organizations, by making it look like she was supportive of small businesses.
But, of course she is supportive of small business owners in a large way, because she is one! The bills she has put forth are numbered as follows: 2355, 3244, 3336 and H Con Res 25. No jobs bills. One more time our congresswoman has not sponsored any jobs bills.
But then again there is House Bill 2417 she was much supportive of, making sure we had a choice of light bulbs! I urge you voters of the 4th District to search me out and tell me where I am wrong on any of this.
Be awake as what is happening in the United States House of Representatives. After all we are the ones to say who goes and who stays in 2012.
George Wheeldon, Archie
