HHS 1992 reunion planned
The 20-year reunion for Harrisonville High School’s Class of 1992 is planned for the weekend of Sept. 14-15, to coincide with Homecoming Weekend activities.

The Shepherd’s Staff Food Pantry will be hosting a food drive outside of Walmart in Harrisonville 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15.
HHS 1972 reunion planned
The 40-year reunion for Harrisonville High School’s Class of 1972 is planned for Saturday, Sept. 15, to coincide with Homecoming Weekend activities. The gathering will take place from 5-10 p.m. at the Elks Club in Harrisonville. For more information, contact Vickie Danny at 816-863-5952.
Ride for Recovery
The Healing House is hosting a benefit ride and show beginning at Dream Motorsports at 1208 N. Scott, Belton, on Sunday, Sept.16. A pre-ride rally will begin at 8 a.m. The ride will travel to Knuckleheads Saloon in Kansas City, where the benefit show will entertain acts including the Mad Notes and the Lonnie Ray Blues Band. Raymore Quilt Guild

The Harrisonville Library will host a free pizza party for teens 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18. Local author Steve High will share about his new book, Baker Dreams. Following the event, High will be participating in a book signing for all ages.
The Council Association will be hosting a steak dinner Tuesday, Sept. 18 at the Harrisonville City Park at 6:30 p.m.
Square dance lessons

American Legion dinner
The Hurley Lee Spicer Post 42 of the American Legion is sponsoring a lasagna dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 5:30-7:30 pm. Lasagna, salad, french bread, dessert and drink will be served. Women’s health clinics scheduled
The Women’s Health Services Belton Clinics will be held Sept. 19, 20, and 25. The clinic is located at 119 Congress St., Belton. A Harrisonville Clinic will be Sept. 26, located at 200 N. Oakland, Harrisonville. Participants must call for an appointment and cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance. Services include comprehensive well woman exams including clinical breast exam, pelvic, Pap smear, HIV and Sexually Transmitted Disease testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, reproductive and contraceptive counseling, as well as the issuance of contraceptive supplies. Charges for services are based on a sliding fee scale according to household income. VFW Auxiliary garage sale and candlelight service
The VFW Auxiliary 4409 of Harrisonville will be hosting a garage sale Sept. 20-21 at Post Headquarters, 1804 N. Commercial. Donations will benefit veterans. The Auxiliary will also be holding a POW/MIA candlelight service 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the headquarters.
CAFMCO tractor show

The Lawrence Smith Memorial Airport in Harrisonville is hosting a free open house 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. There will be aircraft displays, free airplane rides from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., and the Rotary Club will be serving free pancakes 7-9:30 .am. Donations will be accepted.

Lora Paine fundraiser
Blue River Bible Church, 15608 Fairchild Dr., Kansas City, will be hosting a fundraiser and bake sale to help offset medical expenses for 19-year-old Lora Paine’s kidney transplant, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22. Activities include horseback rides, hayrides, moonwalk, family costume photo booth, pumpkin decorating and concessions.
Harrisonville United Methodist Church, 2600 E. Mechanic, will be hosting a workshop, “Grandparents raising grandchildren in today’s world,” 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. The keynote speaker will be Steve Nichols, school resource officer at Harrisonville Middle School. The topic will be social media safety. Breakout sessions after the keynote speakers will include the topics of legal rights of grandparents, nutrition, discipline and family support. Cass County Council on Aging dinner
The Cass County Council on Aging will be hosting their semi-annual Ham and Turkey dinner 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Harrisonville Community Center, 2400 Jefferson Pkwy. Cost is $9 for adults and $3.50 for children. Proceeds assist with homebound meals.
Harrisonville celebration planned

BHS 1977 reunion planned
The Belton High School class of 1977 will celebrate their 35th year class reunion Saturday, Oct. 6, at Frankie & Johnnie’s in Belton. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. BHS classes of 1975 through 1979 are invited to attend, as well.
