Carl Eugene Francy

July 13, 1953 - Sept. 9, 2012

Carl Eugene “Gene” Francy, 59, of Harrisonville, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville.

Gene was born July 13, 1953, in Harrisonville, the son of Everett William and Stella (Brown) Francy. He was a 1971 graduate of Harrisonville High School and was a lifelong resident of Harrisonville. Gene worked in assembly for the General Motors-Leeds Plant in Kansas City and was a member of the UAW Local No. 93.

Gene’s parents preceded him in death. One brother, Johnny Francy of Bellingham, Wash., survives him.

Graveside/Inurnment services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. (Cremation).

Geraldine Williamson Ford

Sept. 16, 1932 -Sept. 12, 2012

Geraldine “Gerry” Williamson Ford, 79, of Pleasant Hill, our sweet, loving Mother and Momo, was born Friday, Sept. 16, 1932 in Pittsburg, Kan., the daughter of Roy and Rosa (Hamilton) Williamson. She died at 7:10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at John Knox Village Care Center, Lee’s Summit, surrounded with love and family.

Gerry was a 1950 Pittsburg, Kan., High School graduate. At the age of 13, she met the love of her life and best friend Raymond L. “Tag” Ford. She later married him on Dec. 30, 1950. They were blessed with two sons, Chris Alan Ford and Clayton Charles Ford.

In 1960, she and Raymond moved to Pleasant Hill, where they resided and raised their children. She was an active member of First Baptist Church. For many years, she taught the Shining Light Sunday School class.

She worked for the IRS in Kansas City for 26 years, where she made many friends. She retired from the IRS in 1992.

Gerry was always filled with lots of love and compassion and she had a spirit that was always extending her love and her home to people. She took great love and pride in spending time with her family, cooking and praising Jesus

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first-born son Chris on May 15, 2009 and one sister, Rosalie Coulter.

Geraldine is survived by her husband Raymond of Pleasant Hill; one son Clayton Ford of St. Augustine, Fla.; daughter-in-law Rhonda (Bowman) Ford of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren Toby (and Katie) Ford of Austin, Texas, Nick (and Genie) Ford of Augusta, Kan., Kelli (and Andrew) Winemiller of Pittsburg, Kan., Cody Ford of Pleasant Hill, and Travis (and Oliccia) Ford of Pleasant Hill; six great grandchildren Serenity Ford, Jack Ford, Addie Ford, Christopher Ford, Lily Winemiller, and Hudson Ford; one sister Elaine (and Grover) Desmond of Independence; cousin Ruth Cummins of Harrisonville; and dear family friend Jackie Ralston Emo of Pleasant Hill; other relatives and a host of many friends.

Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services were at 3 p.m. Sept. 16 at First Baptist Church, Pleasant Hill. Reverend Wyatt Shanks officiated.

Visitation was from 2 p.m. until service time at the church Sept. 16.

Memorial contributions are suggested to American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.

Marcus Lee Rice, 75, of Rich Hill, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Vitas Hospice Care in Kansas City.

Marcus was born Feb. 25, 1937, in Lowry City. He was married to Wilma L. Dutcher. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Jo Anne Miller

Jo Anne Miller, 82, of Harrisonville, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kansas City.

Jo Anne is survived by her husband, two daughters, a son-in-law, and a son.

Funeral services were Sept. 19 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City. Burial will be in Clearfork Cemetery, Garden City.

Tonya Marie Troup

Tonya Marie Troup, 27, of Harrisonville, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at her home surrounded by love and family.

Tonya is survived by her children, Payton, Madison and Jayden; and her parents, Robert and Vallie Troup, Harrisonville.

There was a Celebration of Life Service Sept. 18 at Antioch Southern Baptist Church, Harrisonville.

Brenda Diane Amos

Sept. 1, 1957 - Sept. 15, 2012

Brenda Diane (Foreman) Amos, 55, of Harrisonville, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Benchmark Health Care in Harrisonville.

Brenda was born Sept. 1, 1957, in Harrisonville, the daughter of Lawrence Dwight and Billie Marie (Norman) Foreman.

Brenda was a 1975 graduate of Harrisonville High School. She was married to John Timothy Amos for 23 years. She was a homemaker. She loved her grandchildren; they were her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Clyde Foreman and one granddaughter, Ariel Pierce. She is survived by two daughters, Jackolin Pierce (Brian Herrick), Independence, and Rebecca “Becky” Lynn (Dewey Lynn), Harrisonville; five brothers, William Foreman, Harrisonville, David Foreman, Michael Foreman, Arkansas, Bryon Foreman, Missouri, and Alan Foreman, Kansas; one sister, Paula Gillotte, Harrisonville; 11 grandchildren, Marcus Divilbiss, Alexander Divilbiss, Hillary Younce, Jasmine Lynn, Alyssa Pierce, Rachael Pierce, Caleb Herrick, Dorian Herrick, Briana Herrick, Devlin Lynn and Cecil Lynn; and other family and friends.

Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Atkinson Chapel in Harrisonville. (Cremation). Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Deborah Sulser Jackson

Deborah Sulser Jackson, 59, of Urich, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at her home near Urich.

Cremation. There was a Celebration of Life Visitation from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.

James Michael McNeary

Nov. 16, 1941 - Sept. 17, 2012

James “Mike” Michael McNeary, 70, of Cleveland, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2012, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence.

He was born Nov. 16, 1941, in St. Louis, the son of Clement and Dorothy (Weldon) McNeary. He was united in marriage to Paula Miller on Feb. 1, 1980, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City.

Mike worked for Independence Power and Light for 20 years as an Electronic Technician before retiring in 2005. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Mike and his wife Paula own a farm in the Cleveland area, where they enjoyed raising cattle and farming for the past 30 years. He loved spending time with his cows on the farm and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Michael J. McNeary and Steven J. McNeary.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Paula McNeary, Cleveland; two sons, Joseph D. McNeary and wife Christine, Maryland Heights; and Paul B. McNeary, Mobile, Ala.; four grandchildren, Katie, Joshua, Michael, Jr., and Kristen; one great granddaughter, Isabella; one brother, Jerome S. McNeary and wife Trish; one sister, Janet Forlow and husband Ted; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Louisburg, Kan. Burial with military honors will follow in Glenwild Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home, with the Rosary prayed at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to KSDS, Inc., (Kansas Specialty Dog Service) or Agape Christian Food Pantry.
