City urges caution with water line insurance

ReprintHarrisonville city officials want to remind residents that there is no connection between the city and HomeServe USA of Stamford, Conn., which is currently conducting a direct mail campaign, seeking to sell water line service coverage to Harrisonville residents.
“We want everyone to know that HomeServe is not affiliated with the City of Harrisonville,” City Administrator Keith Moody said. “HomeServe is an independent company with no relationship to us. We do not endorse their services, nor do we encourage people to obtain such coverage for their water lines.”
Moody advises residents to thoughtfully consider whether they wish to purchase this insurance program.
“You are under no obligation and participation is completely voluntary,” he said.
