October 12 Community Brief
Mary Sibley DAR
The Mary Sibley DAR met Sept. 15 in the Cass Regional Medical Center conference room with 18 members and guests present.
Marilyn Moorland, regent, led in the opening rituals, Katrine Cummins read the presidents general message and Amy Ledgerwood gave the national defense report.
Susan Gray presented the new yearbooks with many thanks for all the hard work.
Committee reports were given, as was a report on the annual June trip to Popular Heights and Bates County Museum. Members were reminded of the upcoming district meeting Sept. 21.
Constitution week was Sept. 17-23 and bells were rung in the school at 3 p.m. Sept. 17. The program was presented by Tricia Hazelrigg on the making of the constitution with an interesting report of the book Being George Washington by Glenn Beck.
Thank you cards were read. Members were reminded of the Life Choice Dinner fundraiser Wednesday, Oct. 17. The next meeting will be Saturday, Oct. 20, in the Cass Regional Medical Center conference room.
