HHS honors students of the month

Harrisonville High School has chosen seniors Matthew Baer and Anisa Alexander as the students of the month for September.

Baer is the son of Rex and Jane Baer.

His school activities include soccer, robotics, tennis, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Council, Freshman Mentoring, National Honor Society and PRIDE, a peer counseling group.

He is president of NHS and PRIDE and vice president of Freshman Mentoring.

His hobbies including supporting Sporting KC at Livestrong Park and spending time with family and friends.

After high school, Baer plans to attend Missouri S&T to major in chemical engineering.

Alexander is the daughter of Doug and Trish Alexander.

Her school activities include volleyball, basketball, soccer, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, SADD, Student Council and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America.

Alexander serves as captain of the soccer and volleyball teams, vice president of NHS, huddle leader of FCA, historian of SADD, treasurer of Student Council and secretary of FCCLA.

She enjoys Pinterest and spending time with family and friends.

Alexander’s plans after high school are to attend a four-year university to major in athletic training and minor in Spanish. She hopes to then continue her education to earn a degree in physical therapy.

The HHS students of the month are selected on the basis of character, citizenship, and academics.
