Elementary students recognized

Harrisonville Elementary School students were honored at an assembly Nov. 6. The school hosts monthly assemblies to recognize student accomplishments.

Third grader Kylie Meeks received the Service Above Self Award from the Harrisonville Rotary Club. Each month, the Rotary Club will recognize one student at HES for their work in helping others.

Students who exhibit the character trait of the month are named Wildcats of the Month. The character trait for October was Responsibility and those honored as Wildcats of the Month were first graders Haleigh Kinney and Isabella Galbraith, second graders Karsen Graves and Mason Cheek, and third graders Maddy Ware and Maria Cesonis. The honored students received a certificate and a t-shirt from the PTO. The Applebee’s Golden Apple recipient for October was second grade teacher Linda Durnell.

Over 350 students were honored for meeting their reading goals for October.
