HHS October students honored

Harrisonville High School has recently announced the students of the month for October. Seniors Bryant Kanies and Emily Hix were selected by the faculty to receive this honor.

Kanies is the son of Tim and Pam Kanies

His school activities include football, basketball, baseball, robotics, and National Honor Society.

Outside of school, he is involved in the First Baptist Church youth group and Boy Scout Troop 100.

His hobbies include playing sports and video game, hunting, fishing, and enjoying his free time.

After high school, Kanies plans to attend the University of Missouri S&T and major in nuclear engineering.

Hix is the daughter of Dave and Carol Hix.

Her school activities include Freshman Mentoring, National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, FFA, and softball.

Hix serves as president of Freshman Mentoring and secretary of the Cass Career Center chapter of FFA.

She enjoys shopping, running, watching football, and hunting.

Hix’s plans after high school include attending Missouri State University to study pre-veterinary medicine.

The HHS Students of the Month are selected on the basis of character, citizenship, and academics.
