SMS recognizes students of the month
Sherwood Middle School October students of the month were honored at an assembly on Nov. 6.
SMS teachers select one student per grade level for each of seven categories, mathematics, scientists, historians, writers, artists, readers, musicians and character traits. This month’s character trait was honesty. The honorees were given a certificate and will be treated to pizza.
One student per month is selected by the eighth grade teachers to be recognized at the board of education meeting. The Student Spotlight honoree for October was Lynnlee Parrott.
Parrott was chosen because she is very studious and active in and out of the classroom. She genuinely cares about her grades and her academic performance. At school, she is involved in National Junior Honor Society, Leadership, Student Council, volleyball, cross country and basketball.
Outside of school, Parrott enjoys competitive softball, farming, listening to music, and computers. She also likes being sociable, food and the New York Yankees. Parrott is the daughter of Charlie and Dianna Parrott.
