Harrisonville woman charged with shooting husband

A Cass County woman was charged Saturday, Dec. 1, in connection to the death of her husband.
Billie B. Campbell, 55, of Harrisonville, was charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the Nov. 29 murder of her husband Eldon Campbell Jr.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, Billie Campbell was taken into custody at the Cass County Jail after being released from an area hospital.
She is being held on a $1.0 million cash-only bond.
Deputies were called about 9:50 p.m. Nov. 29 on a reported shooting in the 27000 block of Southeast Outer Road, which is south of Harrisonville near U.S. 71.
The 60-year-old business owner was found shot, and transported to an area hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead.
Campbell, known as Rocky, was an owner of Campbell Fire Protection, which is in the same block where the shooting occurred. The business installs and services fire protection and security equipment and systems.
According to court documents, the couple filed for a divorce last spring and were given protective orders against each other.
