McEowen students honored
Harrisonville McEowen Elementary students were honored at a monthly assembly Dec. 5. The school hosts a monthly Positive Action Assembly to recognize student accomplishments.
To begin the assembly, Boy Scouts led McEowen students in the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem. Students of the Month are nominated by their classroom teacher.
Each month, McEowen students who exhibit the character education trait of the month are honored. November’s trait was Self Control.
Students are also recognized for writing and math at each Positive Action Assembly.
Service Above Self Awards were given from the Harrisonville Rotary Club for November. Each month, the Rotary Club recognizes students at McEowen for their work in helping others.
The Harrisonville Kiwanis Club honored students as part of its Terrific Kids Program for fourth graders. This program seeks to recognize students for achieving goals outside the academic realm.
McEowen also recognizes a staff member at the school as the McEowen Sonic Super Star Staff Member. Custodian Denise Cox was honored as the November recipient.
