Sheriff investigates early morning shooting

ReprintCass County Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to the area of 29000 block of E. Orient Cemetery Rd. outside Harrisonville, before 7:30 a.m. Jan. 2 in response to shooting.
According to law enforcement officials, the gunshot victim showed up at an area fire department.
The victim, who is not being identified, was transported to an area hospital and is expected to recover from the injuries sustained in the shooting.
No determination has been made as of press time about the nature of the shooting.
Detectives are investigating the incident.
