Cass Coalition meets in Pleasant Hill

The Cass County Coalition of Chambers’ first meeting of the year was hosted by the Pleasant Hill Chamber of Commerce at Big Iron Town on Jan. 10.
During the meeting, Cass County Economic Developer Melissa Freeman announced that the legislative Cass County Day in Jefferson City will be held during the week of Feb. 25.
The other big item of county news announced that a new truck plaza is coming to the Missouri Highway 7 interchange along Interstate 49, near Pryo City.

Belton announced that their annual golf tournament coming up Friday, May 10.
Cass County Associate Commissioner Jimmy Odom shared that Menards, a home improvement store, is still looking to build in Cass County, and will likely break ground in the spring.
Also located on I-49, it was announced that the Hampton Inn being built near the 163rd Street exit is near completion and should be finished by Feb. 1.
Raymore is planning their annual Raymore Day at the “K” Sunday, April 28.
City leaders from Raymore also shared positive remarks about the new Belfonte's Premier Express Car Wash that recently opened along Missouri Highway 58.
Raymore is also anticipating the opening of the roundabout at the intersection of Dean Avenue and Lucy Webb Road.
Peculiar City Administrator Brad Ratliff shared an update about the progress of the 211th Street interchange and the county annexation plan they will be proposing to the Cass County Commission for the construction of the interchange.
In final remarks, the coalition announced that the Cass County Fair will be held Tuesday, July 16-Sunday, July 21. The 2013 celebration will mark the 20th anniversary of the fair.
The Cass County Coalition of Chambers meets the second Thursday of each month at 11:45 a.m.
Upcoming meetings will be Feb. 14 in Raymore; March 14 in Belton; April 11 in Harrisonville; May 9 in Peculiar; June 13 in Pleasant Hill; July 11 in Raymore; Aug. 8 in Belton; Sept. 12 in Harrisonville; Oct. 10 in Peculiar; Nov. 14 in Pleasant Hill; and Dec. 12 in Raymore.
