Swimming for seniors
Harrisonville takes first at senior night

Harrisonville took first overall in their invitational held Jan. 22 at the Harrisonville Community Center, winning seven out of 11 events and taking second in two other events.
“I thought this was our best home meet yet and a great send off for our seniors,” Harrisonville head coach Megan Mannell said.
The Wildcats defeated Lincoln College Prep 112-27, beat Marshall 91-71, slipped past Raymore-Peculiar 85-84 and beat Warrensburg 96-60.
The Harrisonville 200-yard medley relay team of Courtney Bomberger, Courtney Lemmer, Taylor Spencer and Kailey Huston took first with a time of 2 minutes, 10.9 seconds. The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Lemmer, Huston, Bomberger and Spencer placed first with a time of 1:57.59.
Huston finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:23.73 and took first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:05.75. Spencer placed first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.79. Bomberger took first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:35.28 and Lemmer finished first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:10.23.
Raymore-Peculiar defeated Lincoln College Prep 151-9, Marshall 91-76 and Warrensburg 99-64.
“Our girls swam pretty well,” Raymore-Peculiar head coach Matt Majors said. “We had several reach personal bests and they swam some of their off events they don’t normally get to swim. The girls have been working really hard with an increase in yardage at practice as well as morning practice. They are getting excited for conference and looking to a good showing.”
Panther Maddi Brusick took first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of :27.56 and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Rachel Fisk, Sierra Page, Mackenzie Taylor and Jordyn Ferro finished first with a time of 4:38.87.
