March 1 Community Brief

March 1, 2013

Pleasant Valley Homemakers

Pleasant Valley Homemakers met Feb. 7 at Diamond Ray’s for our meal and meeting.

Club president, Carole Raynes, opened the meeting by leading in the pledge to the flag. Jo Ann Swearengin gave the devotional, a reading “Hugs.” Members then exchanged homemade Valentines for roll call. Linda Reece then presented each member with a beautiful small hand-crocheted cross.

The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved and a treasurer’s report was given.

Announcement was made of the Quarterly Council Meeting/Salad Luncheon from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, at University of MO Extension Center, 201 W. Wall St.

Raynes then asked for suggestions for our annual club Spring Trip in June.

The program of the day was led by Linda Wyant, a game called the Budget Bean Game.

Our next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Harrisonville Community Center.

Reece won the hostess gift.
