J.D. John Christensen died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at his home in Garden City.
J.D. is survived by his wife, Mary Christensen, of Garden City, two sisters, Judy Walton, of Harrisonville, Jo Burton ,of Fulton, a brother J.M. Christensen, of Warrensburg, and many nieces and nephews.
There was a Celebration of Life Service Feb. 23.
Margaret Jean Hedrick

Margaret Jean Hedrick, 82, of Harrisonville, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville.
Margaret was born Oct. 15, 1930, in Harrisonville, the daughter of George August and Mable T. (Ephland) Unnewehr. She was a 1949 graduate of Archie High School and was a lifelong Cass County resident. Margaret worked for several local and county restaurants. She was a former member of Archie Christian Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Hedrick, stepson, Robert N. Hedrick, Jr., and one brother, John Unnewehr. She is survived by one son, Frank Yoder, Lone Jack; one stepson, Ron Hedrick, Amsterdam; three daughters, Patty Hedrick, Fair Grove, Sandi Larsen, Harrisonville, Jennifer Wade, Parkville; one stepdaughter, Kay Pope, Archie; one brother, Fred Unnewehr, McAllen, Texas; three sisters, Virginia Reeder, Overland Park, Kan., Georgia Foote, Archie and Betty Calhoon, Kansas City; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Feb. 23 at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Burial was in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. Memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, Independence.

Bobby Joe Morris, 75, of Harrisonville, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Cass Regional Medical Center, Harrisonville.
Funeral services were Feb. 28 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville. Graveside service was Feb. 28 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville.

Gene Francis Grover
June 12, 1935 - Feb. 21, 2013
Gene Francis Grover died at his home in Peculiar on Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, with his family by his side.
Gene was born June 12, 1935, in Kansas City, the son of W. H. and Minnie F. (Flake) Grover. After joining the military and being stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base, he attended a local USO dance, where he met Beverly Lou Hinote. Gene and Beverly married March 24, 1956, in Kansas City. To this union, four daughters were born: Melinda, Robin, Tracy and Jennifer.
Gene served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1974, when he retired at the rank of MSgt. He began his military career with a tour in Korea, followed by a tour in Vietnam. After retirement from the military, he worked as a field service manager for Digital Equipment Corporation until his retirement in 1991. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and woodworking. He especially enjoyed being with his family.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, W.H. and Minnie Grover and his twin brother, Glenn Grover. He is survived by his wife Beverly Grover of the home; four daughters, Melinda Jackson and husband, Gary of Amsterdam, Robin Kuhns of Butler, Tracy Kuhns and husband, Lt. Col. William Kuhns of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Jennifer Travis and husband, David of Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at First Baptist Church in Peculiar. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the church.

Frances Norene Paul, 83, of Blue Springs, died Friday Feb. 22, 2013. She was born on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 1929, in the Garden City area.
There was a visitation Feb. 27 at Royer-Hayes Funeral Home, 205 SW 17th, Blue Springs.
Funeral Services began at 2:30 p.m. following visitation. Burial will be at Blue Springs Cemetery.

Genevieve Creighton, 93, of Raymore, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Foxwood Springs Living Center, Raymore.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, at Urich Cemetery, Urich. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hendrick Cemetery Association.
