HES students honored

March 1, 2013

Harrisonville Elementary School students were honored at an assembly Feb. 4. The school hosts monthly assemblies to recognize student accomplishments.

Third grader Presley Zaring received the January Service Above Self Award from the Harrisonville Rotary Club. Each month, the Rotary Club will recognize one student at HES for his/her work in helping others.

Students who exhibit the character trait of the month are named Wildcats of the Month. In January, the character trait was honesty. The honored students received a certificate and a T-shirt from the PTO. The Applebee’s Golden Apple recipient for January was math teacher Brenda Foerschler.

Three hundred and fifty-seven students were honored for meeting their reading goals for January.
