Bright Futures Harrisonville and SeniorMania are partnering to offer a Prom Closet for high school students headed to the big event this spring. The Prom Closet will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at the Harrisonville United Methodist Church, 2600 E. Mechanic.

The Prom Closet is now accepting donations of dresses – prom, cocktail, or bridesmaid; accessories; shoes and new cosmetics; and shirts, ties, shoes, dress pants for the boys. Donations can be dropped off at the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville High School, 1504 E. Elm; or the district administrative offices, 503 S. Lexington.

High school students will be able to shop for prom apparel at a greatly discounted rate. Bright Futures will also be providing vouchers for students in need to shop.

Two additional communities have joined this effort – Pleasant Hill and Holden. These communities will also be collecting donations and students from any area school can shop with a valid student ID.
