Toddler storytime

The Harrisonville branch of the Cass County Public Library will be hosting a special storytime for toddlers and their caregivers beginning on Tuesdays at 11 a.m.

The storytime meets weekly for approximately 20 minutes of stories, music and finger toddlers ages 18-36 months. Pre-registration required.

Film festival

The Peculiar Film Festival will be held Friday, March 1 through Sunday, March 3, at Monkey Printing (244 State Route C Hwy., Peculiar).The festival features over 40 films in 3 day. Numismatic society

The Cass County Numismatic Society meets the first Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Mill-Walk Mall in Harrisonville near the theatre. The gathering includes a brief business meeting then reserve priced coin auction. Public is invited. for more information, contact President Jon A. Mouse races

The Harrisonville Chamber of Commerce will be hosting mouse races Friday, March 1, at the Cass County Elks Lodge. Doors open at 6 p.m., races begin at 6:30 p.m. Entry fee is $5 and includes food. Cash bar available.

Suessical! performance

The Calvary Bible College Fine Arts Series is will present Ahrens’ and Flaherty’s award-winning musical, Seussical, March 1-10, at the Liberty Chapel, 15790 Elmwood, Kansas City, on Calvary’s campus. Harlam Ambassador show

The Harlem Ambassadors Basketball Show will be performing at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Harrisonville High School in the gymnasium. The event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Harrisonville. Dr. Seuss Birthday party

The Harrisonville branch of the Cass County Public Library will be holding a birthday party for Dr. Seuss from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, March 2.

Belton Ladies Day Out

The Cass County Association of Educational Office Professionals will host a Ladies’ Day Out event to benefit high school seniors in Cass County 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at the Belton Freshman Center, 801 W. North Ave., Belton. Several small businesses and local crafters will be featured with breakfast and lunch available for purchase by Gen-U-Wine Swine. Hunting banquet

The South Grand River Gobblers chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will hold their Hunting Heritage banquet Saturday, March 9, at the Cass County Elks Lodge in Harrisonville.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and dinner begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $50 a person, $60 a couple, and $15 for jakes. Each ticket includes a NWTF membership. For more information or to register, contact Phil Needham at 816-809-6259.

The West Line Opry will be holding its montly dance Saturday, March 9.

St. Patricks parade

The Wendell T. Ivers “A li’l bit of Ireland” St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be 5 p.m. Saturday, March 16 in downtown Belton. Parade marshal is Richard Smith owner of RS Diecast & Collectibles. An invitation is extended to any individual, group, organization or business to participate. Entry fee is two canned goods. Donations will be made to Belton Welfare Association. Kindergarten round-up

Sherwood Elementary will be holding a Kindergarten Round-Up at 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 18 in the multipurpose room. Parents and children will get to learn a little about what to expect in kindergarten and also what to expect when they come for their child’s kindergarten screening. Screening times will be scheduled that night and children will have the chance to see the kindergarten classrooms. Kindergarten screenings will be held March 25-27. Foundation breakfast

The Raymore-Peculiar Public School Foundation invites the public to breakfast to learn more about the Foundation’s work in the school district. The breakfast will be held on 7:30-8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 21, in the Administration Building Board Room. Girls leadership training

The Harrisonville Business Women will reschedule their Girls Leadership Camp for junior and seniors 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, March. 27 at the First Christian Church in Harrisonville. The event is provided free of charge and the program includes interactive workshops on leadership and self improvement.

Professional women will present information on the following topics: Personal Finance, Networking and Presentation, Safety Awareness and Business Etiquette. Opened to students at Cass County schools or who is home schooled.
