The Get Together Club

On Jan. 18, 10 members met at the home of Carol Mullen for a delicious potluck lunch. Ruby Knight offered the blessings.

The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Penny Hall gave the devotional, “Frog.”

Club books were handed out.

Annual membership dues were collected.

The minutes from the December 2012 meeting were read by Katrina Arthurs and accepted.

Roll call was answered with the question, “What is the most cluttered room in your house?”

The status of the bank account was discussed and the February 2012 minutes, as well as a letter addressed to the bank indicating Rachel Hall will be removed from the account and replaced with Imogene Pedigo.

It was announced that Larry Dobson has agreed to give a bluebird exhibit for the Spring Fling.

Members drew their secret pals for the year.

Ruby Knight made a motion to determine the thrift store’s needs. Penny seconded the motion. The motion was passed. Pedigo will contact the thrift store to determine what needs they have that The Get Together Club can help meet.

Pedigo gave the lesson, “How to Declutter Your Life.”

The February meeting will be at Mary Luttrell’s house.

Penny won the hostess gift.

The Glorified Homemakers Extension Club

The Glorified Home- makers Extension Club met March 12 at the extension office. The meeting was opened by President Sue Pulliam with the pledge to the flag. Roll call was answered with your favorite TV program. Pulliam read “Yes- terday, Today and Tomorrow” by Helen Steiner Rice.

The minutes of last month’s meeting were read and approved. Treasurer’s report was given. Pulliam reported on the County Council Meeting in March.

The annual Spring Fling will be Wednesday, April 17, at the extension office. Each club is responsible for a 20-minute program. This year, our club will be playing bingo. Each of our members will bring items for bingo prizes. Each person is to bring a salad and their own service.

Katrine Cummins made a motion to donate to Life Choice Center and Shepherds Staff Food Pantry. Next month’s meeting will be at the home of Sandra Callings with co-hostess Pulliam.

Carol Witherspoon gave a program titled, “The Happy Sweet Indulgence Chocolate.”

Delicious refreshments were served by our co-hostess Goldie Cunningham and the meeting was adjourned until April. Those in attendance were Pulliam, Cunningham, Witherspoon, Patty Anderson, Cummins and Callings.
