Harrisonville School District plans College Week

March 29, 2013

The Harrisonville School District invites the community to get involved with a first-ever event next week.

During the week of April 1-5, students, staff, and teachers will celebrate College Awareness Week 2013. Activities are planned throughout the district from spirit days at Harrisonville Middle School and Harrisonville High School to mascot coloring pages at Early Childhood Center and district-wide questions of the day.

Community members are encouraged to participate in College Day Friday, April 5 by wearing apparel supporting your favorite college.

Businesses can include College Week messages on their marquees or signage and/or decorate a window or area within the business.

The district will post a “Question of the Day” on the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/HarrisonvilleSchools) and community members are invited to join the discussion.

Each school will host a door decorating contest and the district is looking for volunteers to judge the contest. The judging will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 3.

To help judge or for additional information on College Week, contact Jill Filer at 816-380-2727, ext. 1224.
