A Napoleon man died in a dirt bike crash April 3.
Cass County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to area of the 3800 block of East 203rd Street in rural Belton at approximately 12:30 p.m. to investigate a motor vehicle collision on private property.
According to deputies, 36-year-old Jeremy Engelmohr of Napoleon was jumping a series of hills on a 2009 Yamaha dirt bike when he landed incorrectly and was thrown from the vehicle.
Engelmohr’s head struck the ground on impact.
A second rider at the track found Engelmohr and called 911. Belton Fire and EMS responded to the scene, but were unable to revive victim.
The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene.
Engelmohr was wearing a helmet and other safety gear at the time of the incident, investigators said.
