Dennis Wayne Schmidt

Jan. 2, 1950 - April 22, 2013

Dennis Wayne Schmidt, 63, of Harrisonville, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at his home.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, spending eight years serving his country as an electrician aboard Naval Nuclear Submarine.

Funeral services were April 27 at the funeral home. Full military honors were provided by the U.S. Navy and VFW Post #3118 Honor Guard.

Cremation was accorded. Inurnment will be in Strasburg Cemetery.

Rose Zella Adams

Jan. 17, 1939 - April 23, 2013

Cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Rose Zella Adams died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, after a long and valiant struggle in the loving embrace of her family. Rose was born in Deepwater on Jan. 17, 1939, to Roxie Eunice Arnold and Robert Jessee “Pete” Arnold.

On Nov. 14, 1959, Rose was united in marriage to Charles William Adams. There were four children born to the marriage and one family friend adopted by love.

Rose was raised in Kansas City and graduated from Central High School in 1957. She was a clerk at Wolf Brother’s, secretary to Dr. Scarpolino at St. Luke’s Hospital, a returns clerk at Montgomery Ward’s and home health-care provider for Upjohn Healthcare. Rose spent most of her years as a loving wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Arnold.

Rose leaves behind her loving husband Charles of the home; son Mark Adams and wife Cathy, Harrisonville; daughter Charlotte Reifsteck and husband Fred, Independence; daughter Jill Warren and life partner Andrew Kline, Kansas City; and son Russell Adams and wife Chrissy, Harrisonville; and Frank Monroe of Lee’s Summit. Rose loved her grandchildren more than life; she leaves behind Mark’s daughters Jessica and Ashley Adams; Charlotte’s daughters Kaitlyn and Haley Reifsteck; Jill’s sons, Jacob, Jeremiah and PFC Joshua Warren; and Russ’ daughter Nora Adams; a brother, Robert Arnold, Clinton. Rose had a very large and loving extended family.

You will be so greatly missed but never, ever forgotten. Rest in peace, your pain and struggles are gone.

Funeral services were April 27 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Greg Lee Beemer

Nov. 18, 1958 - April 23, 2013

Greg Lee Beemer, 54, of Pleasant Hill, (formerly of Belton) was born Nov. 18, 1958. He died at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at his home.

Cremation has been accorded. Family will have a memorial service at a later date.

Gary Donald Smith

April 25, 1946 - April 23, 2013

Gary Donald Smith, 66, of Sedan, Kan., was born April 25, 1946, in Clinton, the son of Donald Briviande and Betty Jean (Wheeler) Smith. He died Tuesday, April 23, 2013, at his home surrounded by love and family.

On Nov. 4, 1988, Gary was united in marriage to Margaret Doll Davidson in Butler.

Gary joined the U.S. Marine Corp right out of high school and served in Vietnam. After three years in the Marine Corp, he joined the U.S. Air Force Reserve until his retirement. He also was a John Deere technician, working in the Harrisonville area for many years.

Besides his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother, Larry.

Gary is survived by his wife Margaret, of Sedan, Kan.; a daughter, Cora Trinkle and companion Cathy, of Butler; two granddaughters, Shelby and Ashley; a sister, LaDonna Diller, St Charles; his faithful horse, Sonny, other relatives and a host of friends.

There was a graveside service April 27 in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, with Military Honors provided by Harrisonville Honor Guard and the Marine Corps.

F. Pittman, 94, of Archie, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville.

Ann Roach, 89, of Adrian, died Friday, April 26, at Adrian Manor.

Memorial services were April 30 at Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian with inurnment in East Slopes Cemetery in Riverside.

Cremation.
