Linda Ridley

May 7, 2013

Linda Ridley, 62, a retired postal manager, beloved mother, and Nana to five grandchildren, died Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at her home in Shawnee, Kan.

In addition to her daughters, Andrea Flake, of Fort Collins, Colo., and Chandra Beadleston, of Shawnee, Kan., Linda is survived by her parents, Don and Alice Lancey of Chillicothe; her brother, Larry, of Kansas City; his wife, Jeanne, and three nephews, Michael, Eric, and Patrick; sons-in-law Zach Flake and Scott Beadleston; and the five grandchildren who always knew her simply as Nana: Liam, Ava, Theodore, Jacy, and Benjamin.

Linda will continue to touch lives through an anatomical bequest to the University of Kansas Medical Center for research and training. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, at the Church of the Resurrection, 13720 Roe Ave., Leawood, KS 66224. The family will receive friends at a reception at the church immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, Linda wished for donations to be made in her name to www.mayoclinic.org or to the Baker University Scholarship Fund.

Leola Jean Woodrome

Aug. 17, 1953 - May 11, 2013

Leola Jean Woodrome, 59, of Pleasant Hill, formerly of Lee’s Summit, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Crown Care Center, Harrisonville.

Cremation has been accorded.

There was a memorial service May 17 at Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge. Inurnment will be in the Osceola Cemetery at a later date.

Ronald Eugene Elliott

Ronald Eugene “Ron” Elliott died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at his home in Pleasant Hill surrounded by family, friends and loved ones. He was the son of Leo Robert and Marjorie Lee (Hosler) Elliott.

Cremation has been accorded and no services are scheduled. Flowers may be sent to the home.

Carol Sue Quinn

May 3, 1944 - May 15, 2013

Carol Sue Quinn, 69, died Wednesday, May 15, 2013, surrounded by her beloved family at her home in Pleasant Hill. She was the daughter of Ernest Lee and Ella (Hamilton) Quinn.

There was a Graveside Service for Carol May 21 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Rev. Denis Payne, of Crossroads Hospice, officiating.

Savannah Deann Nash

May 8, 1997 - May 16, 2013

Savannah Deann Nash, 16, of Harrisonville, was born May 8, 1997, the daughter of Paul Dean Nash and Vicki Lynn (Dabbs) Coulter. She died Thursday, May 16, 2013, near Harrisonville as a result of an automobile accident.

Savannah was a freshman at Harrisonville High School, was an Honor Roll Student and had participated in the Drama Club. She was a member of EPICENTER (the youth group at Church On The Rock near Harrisonville) and FFA and won the Greenhand Award. Savannah loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all that knew her and were touched by her life.

Savannah was preceded in death by her stepfather, Jeffery Coulter, on Jan. 1, 2005.

She is survived by her father and stepmother, Paul and Stephanie Nash, of the home; her mother, Vicki Coulter, Chilhowee; a brother, Ethen Coulter, Chilhowee; two sisters, Kimber Nash, Chilhowee, and Erica Nash, of the home; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Kathy Nash, Harrisonville; maternal grandparents, Tom and Kathy Dabbs, Trimble; grandparents, James and Charolette Keller, Chilhowee, and James and Deann Wolf, Archie; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.

The service was at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Church On The Rock in Harrisonville with Pastor Cesar Nieto officiating. Interment was in Garden City Cemetery, in Garden City.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Savannah Nash Memorial Fund, c/o Sherwood Bank, Harrisonville, Garden City or Creighton.

Philip Merle Wram

Philip Merle Wram, 51, of Creighton, was born Jan. 3, 1962, in Kansas City, the son of Lawrence Merle and Patricia Louise (Heim) Wram. He died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City.

Funeral services were May 20 at Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City.

Clark Stephen Bilyeu, 71, of Harrisonville, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at his home.

He is survived by his son, Steve Bilyeu and wife Melissa, St. Charles; a daughter, Leigh Ann Tejera, Elgin, Ill.; four grandchildren; and a sister, Long Island, N.Y.

Michael Wayne Buxton

Michael Wayne “Buck” Buxton, 63, of Pleasant Hill, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Harrisonville Health Center.

Funeral services were May 22 at the funeral home. Pastor Preston Sanders of Strasburg Baptist Church officiated. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Helen “Imogene” Caywood

Feb. 2, 1935 - May 19, 2013

Helen “Imogene” Caywood, 78, of Exeter, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

Funeral services were at 1 p.m. May 23 with visitation May 22 at Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill. Lucas Guittar conducted the services. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Margie B. Jones

April 7, 1922 - May 19, 2013

Margie B. (Niday) Jones, 91, of Odessa, died Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Golden Living Center-New Haven in Odessa. Margie was born April 7, 1922, in rural Gallatin to James Lee and Alberta (Millspaugh) Niday.

She graduated from Gallatin High School in 1939. On Jan. 31, 1953, she was united in marriage to Charles Harry Allen Jones in Gallatin. He died April 22, 2002. Margie retired from Western Union in 1977, where she worked as a Teletypist. Margie and Harry were members of First Christian Church of Odessa. She was a member of CWF and a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts. Some of her hobbies included gardening, or anything to do with being outdoors, and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include three children, Stan Jones of Odessa, Bob Jones and wife Debbie of Grain Valley, and Jim Jones of Odessa; nine grandchildren, Serena Timko, Kiley Shaw, Garrett Jones, Rachel Jones, Dylan Jones, Michael Bly, Steven Bly, Melissa Bly and Sarah Johnson; and nine great-grandchildren.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. May 23 at First Christian Church of Odessa, with Reverend Clint Coffey officiating. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. May 22 at Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home. Burial was in Odessa City Cemetery following the funeral service.
