The Raymore-Peculiar girls’ track and field team earned 11th place out of 23 teams at the Class 4, Sectional 4 meet held May 18 at Blue Springs.

The Lady Panthers had a team score of 31 points and qualified one athlete and one relay team to the Class 3 and 4 state championships slated for May 24-25 at Lincoln University, Jefferson City. The top four individuals and relays in each event move on to state.

Junior Morgan Smith took first place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.93 seconds and finished second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.67. The 4x200-meter relay team of freshman Autumn Green, junior Latiana Russell, junior Gabrielle Anderson and Smith placed fourth with a time of 1 minute, 46.22 seconds.

The rest of the Raymore-Peculiar girls results are as follows: long jump – 6, Gabrielle Anderson, 16-11; high jump – 7, Hailey Lueckenotto, 4-11; shot put – 8, Alexis Acklin, 36-10.25; triple jump – 7, Kiarrah Moore, 34-9.25.

The Raymore-Peculiar boys’ track and field team also tied for 11th place with a team score of 26 points.

Junior Christopher Alleman placed first in the high jump with a height of 6 feet, 5 inches, followed by senior Steven Brown in third place with a height of 6 feet, 5 inches. Senior Brody Wild finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.48.

The rest of the Panther results are as follows: 1,600-meter run – 6, Jason Fambrough, 4:25.3; 3,200-meter run – 8, Jason Fambrough, 10:29.45; 4x800-meter relay – 8, Ray-Pec (Keaton Wasson, Hunter Fawcett, Levi Van Dyne, Rhett Hammers), 8:47.68.

The Belton girls placed 23rd at sectionals with a team score of one point. Sophomore Amanda Whitney did not qualify for state, but took eighth in the discus throw with a distance of 102 feet, 1 inch.

The Harrisonville boys’ track and field team took ninth place at the Class 3, Sectional 4 meet held May 18 at Blue Springs.

Junior Matt Prindle placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.99 and second int he 200-meter dash with a time of 22.33. Senior PJ Patton finished thir din the discus throw with a distance of 164 feet, 10 inches.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Prindle, senior Tyler Bundt, senior Walter Eastwood and freshman Wyatt Schenker finished fourth with a time of 43.61.

The Pleasant Hill boys placed 13th with a team score of 20 points.

Senior Jacob Randle took second in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.17 and junior John Berry finished third in the shot put with a toss of 54 feet, 6 inches.

The rest of the Roosters’ results are as follows: 3,200-meter run – 7, Chris Richardson, 11:08.42; discus throw – 5, Brandon Clevenger, 148-1.

The Pleasant Hill girls took 18th as a team with 12 points.

Junior Heather Hughes placed fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.99 and sophomore Courtney Bakken took fourth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:11.85.

The 4x800-meter relay team of Bakken, Hughes, freshman Emma Moore and senior Mallory Miller did not qualify for state with a seventh place finish of 10:23.25.

The Harrisonville girls took 26th with a team score of 1.5 points. Sophomore McKala Shockley did not qualify for state, but finished tied for seventh in the pole vault with a height of 7 feet, 9 inches.
