Passenger dies from injuries in East Lynne crash

An Osceola man died early Sunday morning as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle crash south of East Lynne

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Edward Grover, 20, was pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City at 3:25 a.m. after he and two other young men were ejected from a 1998 Ford F250 traveling northbound on K Highway south of 251st Street.

The crash occurred at 11 p.m. July 13 as the pick-up truck ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle returned to the roadway and overturned, ejecting Grover, along with the driver, 22-year-old Michael Grover, of Garden City, and a second occupant, 24-year-old Leland Stewart, of Drexel.

None of the men were wearing seatbelts, according to investigators.

Edward Grover was lifeflighted to St. Luke’s. Michael Grover sustained serious injuries, and along with Stewart, who received moderate injuries, were also transported by air to Research Main Hospital.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the crash investigation.
