Platinum Anniversary

Bill and Verda Day

Bill and Verda Day are happy to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Monday, Sept. 2. Bill and Verda met while students at University of Missouri. Verda was the Harrisonville City Clerk for 24 years, from 1963 to 1987. Bill taught high school vocational agriculture for 23 years and was a Farm Bureau Insurance agent in Harrisonville for 20 years.

Their children are Russ (Ann) of Cumming, Ga.; Dave (Karen) of Boonville; Steve (Vicki) of Shawnee, Kan.; and Al (Dixie) of Ames, Iowa; nine grandchildren (one deceased); and 17 great-grandchildren.

There will be a reception by their children and grandchildren from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 26, at Harrisonville United Methodist Church. No gifts, please.
