Elizabeth Kenagy Cooper

July 3, 1950 - July 17, 2013

Elizabeth “Beth” Kenagy Cooper, 63, of Kansas City, died Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in Minneapolis, Minn. Elizabeth was born July 3, 1950.

She dedicated her life to the lives of children, and believed strongly in the human right to a beautiful childhood, sharing and enjoying the wonder of the world in awe and magic.

Her strength, grace, joy and wisdom deeply touched the lives of everyone she knew and loved.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Katherine Kenagy; her brother, Norman Kenagy. She is survived by her two daughters, Alexandra Cooper, Minneapolis, Minn., and Ariel Cooper, Santa Cruz, Calif., who live on in her memory close to their hearts; two sisters, Iona Kenagy, Kansas City, Charlene Turner, Gardner, Kan., sister-in-law, Phyllis Kenagy, Peculiar; four brothers, Roy Kenagy, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, David Kenagy, Seattle, Wash., Jimmy Kenagy, Garden City, and Gary Kenagy, Clear Lake, Iowa.

Thelma Fay Wyatt

Feb. 8, 1921 - July 26, 2013

Thelma Fay Wyatt, 92, of Greenwood, was born, Feb. 8, 1921, in Osceola, the daughter of Rollin S. and Maggie Leona (Garrison) Frasure. She died Friday, July 26, 2013.

Funeral services were Aug. 3 at the funeral home. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation was at the funeral home.

Irma Jean Kendrick, 70, of Harrisonville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Benchmark Healthcare of Harrisonville. Irma was born Oct. 14, 1942, in Adrian, the daughter of Herbert and Dorothy (Turpen) Kendrick.

There was a Celebration of Life service Aug. 5 at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Cremation.

Travis G. Cress

Feb. 14, 1978 - Aug. 1, 2013

Travis G. Cress, 35, of Belton, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013. Travis was born Feb. 14, 1978, in Kansas City, the son of Charles and Karen Chaffin Cress, of Peculiar.

Travis played and coached for the semi-pro football team The KC Panthers. Travis was a very caring and loving father, son, brother and friend. He will truly be missed.

He is survived by his children, Cheyenne, Travis, Jr., Cameron, Aubree and Chandler; parents; brothers, Brian Cress of Blue Springs and Craig Cress of Wichita, Kan.; sister, Kari St. Louis and her husband Ryan of Blue Springs, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were at 7 p.m. Aug. 5 at Cullen Funeral Home with visitation 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Midwest Transplant Network or Children’s Mercy Hospital.

John Russell Truninger

Oct. 27, 1938 - Aug. 1, 2013

John Russell Truninger, 74, died Thursday, Aug.1, 2013, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit.

From 1962 to 1964, John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Funeral Services for Truninger were Aug. 6 at Wallace Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill with Rev. Kent Deubner officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Albert Gene “Al” Couch, 80, of Belton, was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Odessa, the son of George and Elsie Mae Couch. He died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Belton Research Hospital, surrounded with love and family.

Funeral services were Aug. 6 at the funeral home. Cremation accorded following the service.

Patricia Ann Kloser

June 29, 1932 - Aug. 2, 2013

Patricia Ann Kloser, 81, of Lee’s Summit, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center.

Pat was born June 29, 1932, in East Peoria, Ill., She attended University of Illinois, where she met and married her husband Art. Pat is known for her great sense of humor, her love of laughter, and her unwavering positive attitude. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. Pat was a Catholic and was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kansas City.

Pat is survived by her husband, Arthur J. Kloser, Lee’s Summit; two sons, Mark Kloser of Drexel and Jeff (Renea) Kloser of Adrian and daughters, Wendy (Steven) Buffer of Louisville, Colo., and Kelly (Robert) Angotti of Cincinnati, Ohio; a loving grammy to her grandchildren, Faye Kloser, Mallory Henry, Mackenzie Buffer, Rachel Kloser, Alex Angotti, Hollie Kloser and great-grandchildren, Morgyn and River. She also is survived by her beloved sisters, Beverly and Diana, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a Memorial Visitation 10-11 a.m. with Rosary at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, at Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in Patricia’s name to: Cancer Action, 4010 S. Lynn Ct. Dr., Independence, MO 64055

Virginia was active in her church. She will be buried in South West City.
