9-13 Letter to the Editor

September 13, 2013

Dear Editor:

September 11, 2001, was a landmark event in our nation's history. A date that will not be forgotten in our collective consciousness as a people.

Jonathan Cahn, a Messianic pastor of a church in New Jersey, located about 30 miles from New York City noticed the events of that day and afterwards were following Scripture in Isaiah 9:10-11 about the warnings to the ancient Ten-Tribe Nation of Israel. He documented this in his book, “The Harbinger,” the parallels what is happening to us now.

It is absolutely incredible and a must read for all Christian believers.

Before ancient Israel is carried off to captivity by the Assyrians in 721 B.C., the Minor Prophets spoke of this time as well.

The ruling elite did not want to give up their power and they caused the destruction of their nation. They enslaved their own people by taking advantage of positions and used unjust weights and measures. They didn't give the laborer a fair day's wage for a fair day's work. The people fell into apostasy and idolatry of worshipping false gods, even engaging in child sacrifice.

Today, the will of the people is being usurped by a ruling elite that has gone far beyond any contrast of “right vs. left,” “Republican vs. Democrat.”

We have lost our way and are spiraling out of control. We must turn back to God’s laws in which our founders originally set up as the standard for our laws (Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights).

William Penn said, “Those who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants.”

I believe Pastor Cahn was divinely inspired to write “The Harbinger” about America's past and present, revealing an ancient mystery that is tied to Ground Zero and America's future. It is a warning that, yes, like ancient Israel, we too are under God's judgement. But it is also a message of hope to turn back to God once more. For God is the only one that can save us and the only one that can help us be the country we were...and the country we could be once again.
