Conference crush

Harrisonville stayed perfect in the Missouri River Valley West conference with a 2-0 victory over conference foes Pleasant Hill Oct. 7 at Pleasant Hill.

The Wildcats, now 13-2 overall and 6-0 in conference play, scored both goals in the first half.

Harrisonville senior Brandon Brewster scored the first goal at the 30:36 minute mark off an indirect kick to put the Wildcats ahead 1-0.

The next goal was scored with 12:33 left in the first half by junior Shon Hartzler.

“I think our kids did all that they could,” Pleasant Hill head coach Al Iantorno said. “Harrisonville just has a lot of good players this year. They are very technical and very good players.”

The Roosters did take two good shots on goal in the first half of the game, but Iantorno is just motivated that his team did better than the 6-0 loss to the Wildcats earlier in the season.

“We held them to 2-0 and that’s all we could possibly do,” Iantorno said.

The Roosters move to 7-5 overall.
