The Harrisonville United Methodist Women will be hosting a dinner and bake sale Friday, Nov. 1, at the church, 2600 E. Mechanic. Menu includes ham, beans, coleslaw, vegetable soup, hot dogs, cornbread, dessert and drinks. Annual Bazaar and
The Archie United Methodist Church annual Bazaar and Turkey Dinner will be Saturday, Nov. 2. Bazaar sale is 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and dinner is served 11 a.m.-1 p.m. There will be a quilt drawing at 1 p.m. Admission is $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for children under the age of 12.

The 54th annual turkey dinner at Our Lady of Lourdes Church will be 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at 2700 E. Mechanic St., Harrisonville. In recognition of Veteran’s Day, the Cass County Historical Society is hosting a book signing with local author Don Arndt 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at the Harrisonville Public Library. Arndt’s book, “Into the Dragon’s Roar” is a collection of stories about men he served with in Vietnam.
The University of Missouri Extension-Cass County Center is sponsoring a Hay Production Workshop 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at their office, 201 W. Wall Street.

The VFW Men’s Auxiliary Post 4409 of Harrisonville will be hosting a boiled shrimp dinner 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. Cost is $12 for one pound of shrimp, $20 for all-you-can-eat shrimp, or $8.50 for pork roast. This event is opened to the public
Girls leadership training
The Harrisonville Business Women’s Association will host “A Training for Future Leaders Camp,” a day of leadership and self improvement workshops for area high school girls, 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at the First Christian Church.
Local professional women will speak on topics relevant to the girls attending the workshop, including personal finance, networking and presentation, safety awareness, business etiquette and balancing one’s daily schedule to accomplish a healthy life.
High school counselors in Cass County have been contacted to encourage their junior and senior girls to attend the free workshop, which include lunch and snacks for a pleasant day filled with useful information.

Harrisonville High School bands will be performing a benefit concert 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, in the high school’s Performing Arts Center. Admission is free, but raffle tickets will be sold for a chance to win door prizes.

The West Line Christian Church’s Ladies Aid Group will be hosting a harvest dinner and craft sale 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9.

The Raymore Historical Society meets the second Tuesday each month at 7 p.m. in the museum located in the lower level of the Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Drive, Raymore. The Nov. 12 meeting will feature Carol Bohl of the Cass County Historical Society with a program on pioneer women coming to Missouri. The public is invited and the museum is ADA accessible.
Christmas shopping bazaar
There will be a “Hope for Christmas Bazaar” 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Cass County Elks Lodge No. 2791, 2402 N. 291 Hwy., Harrisonville. There will be more than 35 shopping booths, live entertainment and concessions. Admission is free and all proceeds from the event benefit the Cass County Hope Haven Christmas fund.
