Wildcats fight through districts

It was a battle, but Harrisonville will be playing in the Class 2, District 13 championship boys’ soccer game.

The No. 1 seeded Wildcats fought past No. 4 seeded Pleasant Hill 2-1 in one overtime in the semifinals Nov. 5 at Harrisonville.

Harrisonville, 19-5-1, took on No. 3 seeded Warrensburg in the finals Nov. 7.

The Roosters, 13-9, slipped past No. 5 seeded Oak Grove 2-1 in the first round Nov. 4.

Both Belton and Raymore-Peculiar were taken out in the semifinals of the Class 3, District 13 tournament Nov. 5 at Belton.

The No. 4 seeded Pirates blasted No. 5 seeded Ruskin 10-0 in the first round Nov. 4.

Noa Sosa scored three goals and Caleb Hodges added two goals. Eddie Lopez, Zach Foss, Deivid Guerrero, Matt Hodges and Dylan Byard had one goal each.

The shutout was by goalkeepers Luis Torres and Lane O’Shia.

But Belton, 11-12, was shut out in the semifinals by No. 1 seeded Lee’s Summit West 7-0.

The Titan goals were scored by Tony Mok with three, Chase Fearon with two and Max Ostrander and Jordan Arcuri with one apiece.

No. 3 seeded Raymore-Peculiar had a bye in the first round and was blanked by No. 2 seeded Rockhurst 3-0 in the semifinals.

Rockhurst’s goals were scored by Robert Kelly with two and Robert DeWitt with one.

The Panthers end the season with a 7-18 record.
