Martha Agnes Woodring, 90, of Harrisonville, was born Aug. 23, 1923, near Freeman, the daughter of Samuel Alexander “Alex” and Margie Cathryn (Nelson) Winchel. She died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, at Vitas Hospice Care, Kansas City, surrounded by love and family.

Martha was united in marriage to Keith Milam, Harold Kates and Ellis Woodring. Martha was employed as a machinist for IMCO Containers in Kansas City until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Peculiar. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards, gardening, doll collecting and going to local dances. Martha will be remembered by her family as a good and giving mother and family always came first. She had lived in Kansas City and Peculiar before moving to Harrisonville.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Keith, Harold and Ellis; four brothers and seven sisters.

Martha is survived by a son, Keith Lewis Milam and wife, Nancy, Raytown; two daughters, Frances L. McDonald and husband, Linness, and Carolyn Schubert, all of Harrisonville; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Margie Barr, Peculiar; other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were Nov. 11 at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, with burial in Wills Cemetery near Peculiar.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice.
