Pleasant Valley

Homemakers

Pleasant Valley Homemakers met Nov. 7 at Harold’s Restaurant with eight members present for a very nice luncheon hosted by Jeanette Bartles.

Maureen Eddleman gave the devotional, a poem “Encouragement” and a reading, “The Waters and the Sea.” Club president Carole Rayners led in the pledge to the flag. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved and the treasurer’s report was given.

Linda Reece thanked the club members for planting the large number of mums and pansies donated by Color Star Greenhouse near the window of club member Ruth Lehr at Golden Years Care Center. She and many others are enjoying them so much.

The report on Heartland Area Meeting on Oct. 24 was a great day enjoyed by all in attendance.

Reece gave the lesson for the day on “Emergency Preparedness.” She had so much useful information, as well as great handouts. Secret Pal gifts were received by Reece, Sandy Reece, Linda Wyant and Jo Ann Swearengin.

The hostess gift was won by Reece.

Our next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the home of Reece for our Christmas Luncheon.

Don’t forget there will be a “cookie exchange” this year in addition to our usual secret pal gift exchange and reveal.
