HMS students selected for honor choir

December 6, 2013

Ten Harrisonville Middle Schools students represented their school as part of a regional honor choir.

The students participated in All-District Junior High Honor Choir Nov. 2 at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.

The students representing HMS were Peyton Holden, Abby Quinn, Audrey Welhoff, Peyton Zaring, John Coday, Sydney Graves, Peyton Goss, Susanna Tracy, Lauren Lasure and Hayden Ream.

The HMS students rehearsed with 300 students from area schools and then, the choir presented a concert.

“It is all hard day of rehearsals but our HMS kids were amazing,” HMS choir teacher Michelle Downen-Streit said. “I'm so proud of them.”

The students were selected for the honor through an audition process at HMS. The school can only select three sopranos, three altos and four tenors.
