The Cass County Toy Shop is seeking families to adopt a local family this Christmas by purchasing gifts. Participants can select the size of family they wish to help and a wish list will be provided.

The Cass Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will be hosting a pre-Christmas Sale 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6.
The sale will be held in Conference Room 1, located just inside the front doors of Cass Regional, 2800 E. Rock Haven Rd., Harrisonville.
The sale will feature Christmas ornaments, decorations, home decor and more. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the auxiliary.
The National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association Chapter No. 1012, will hold a luncheon meeting at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, in Holmes Hall, Foxwood Springs Living Center, 1500 W. Foxwood Dr., in Raymore. The business meeting will begin at 11 a.m., lunch and the program to follow at noon.
Nancy Griffin and Marysia Bojanski-Moore will entertain guests with holiday music.

Photos with Santa
Cass Regional Medical Center, 2800 E. Rock Haven Rd., Harrisonville, will host “Photos with Santa’’ 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Dec. 7.
Digital photos of Santa and your loved one/s will be taken in the Rotunda in front of the Christmas tree. Photos will be delivered by email.

Holiday Craft Show
There will be a holiday craft show 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in the gymnasium at the Harrisonville Community Center, 2400 Jefferson Pkwy. The show will feature unique crafts and gifts presented by area merchants and artisans.
Christmas Tree Lighting
The Peculiar Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Friendship Hall, 167 W. Center, Peculiar. There will be pictures with Santa, balloon art from Katrina the Elf, crafts for children, and cookies and hot cocoa.
Christmas in the Cabin
Help decorate the the historic Sharp-Hopper cabin, 400 E. Mechanic St., Harrisonville, for Christmas from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Participants will have the opportunity to make old-fashioned holiday ornaments and decorations for the cabin’s walls, stringing of garland for the fireplace mantels, sewing stockings to be hung by the chimneys, and decorating Christmas trees.
Lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree
Enjoy the lighting of the Harrisonville Mayor’s Christmas Tree and singing Christmas carols at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Marler Wirt Allen Park.
VFW Mens Auxiliary Post 4409 of Harrisonville will be hosting a boiled shrimp dinner 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. Cost is $13 for one pound of shrimp or $8.50 for pork roast. The clubroom is opened to the public.
Christmas Homes Tour
The Harrisonville Business Women of Missouri’s annual Christmas Homes Tour will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8.
Tickets are $10 and on sale at any of the houses on the day of the tour and at the Harrisonville Chamber of Commerce, 2819 Cantrell Rd.
Participating homes include the Travis residence, 26208 S. Southwood Rd., Harrisonville; Atkinson residence, 23405 E. State Hwy. 2, Harrisonville; Reece residence, 400 E. Pearl St., Harrisonville; and the Creekmoor Visitor’s Center, 825 Creekmoor Pond Ln., Raymore.

The Women’s Health Services Belton Clinics will be held Dec. 10-12, 17, 19, and 30-31. The clinic is located at 119 Congress St., Belton.
Other appointments are also available for supply pick-up.
Participants must call for an appointment and cancellations should be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Services include comprehensive well woman exams such as clinical breast exam, pelvic, Pap smear, HIV and STD testing and treatment, pregnancy testing, reproductive and contraceptive counseling, as well as the issuance of contraceptive supplies.
Charges for reproductive health services are based on a sliding fee scale according to household income. The clinic accepts all Missouri HealthNet, including Health Care USA, Missouri Care and Home State Health Plan, plus Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Health Care and Cigna.
Weight Loss Seminar
Cass Regional Medical Center, 2800 E. Rock Haven Rd., Harrisonville, will host a Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Seminar 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, in Conference Rooms 2 and 3 at the hospital, located just inside the main entrance.
Bariatric medicine physicians and surgeons from the Weight Loss and Bariatric Surgery Clinic team will be available to answer questions related to insurance coverage and payment options.
The seminar is free and open to the public, but advance registration is recommended.

Free developmental screenings for children ages 3 and 4 in the Archie School District will be offered 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Dec. 12-13, by appointment only.

Wild game dinner
The Harrisonville American Legion Post No. 42 will be hosting their annual wild game dinner 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13. The event will be held at 303 E. Pearl St. Food and entertainment provided.
There will be a gift/craft sale 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Pearson Room of the Cass Countly Library. Vendors include Bren's Accessories, Scentsy, Avon, Tastefully Simple and Hair Flair.
Holiday Open House
Salon Bella and Boutique, located near the intersection of 58 Highway and Interstate 49 in Belton, will be hosting a Holiday Open House noon-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14. Pictures with Santa
Stafford and Stafford Insurance will be offering pictures with Santa 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, at their office, 801 S. Commercial St., Harrisonville. For a $5 donation, participants will receive a 4x6 picture and a digital copy of the photo. Proceeds will go toward purchasing gifts for ABC Healthcare residents.
Garden City United Methodist Church invites the public to attend a worship service and concert 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15. The concert will feature the performance A Story of Hope with Brian Arnold. The church is located at 500 S. Fifth Street, Garden City.
Town hall meeting
ConnectCass, a 501(c) 3 organization dedicated to the health and wellness of Cass Countians, will be hosting a Town Hall meeting 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, at the Harrisonville Commuity Center, 2400 Jefferson Pkwy. The public forum will allow participants to share and discuss community health needs, priorities and the steps needed to improve community health. Cass County residents and business leaders are encouraged to attend this event. A chili supper will provided for all participants free of charge by Kurzweils Country Meats, Garden City.

Holiday lights collection
Southeast Enterprises, a nonprofit sheltered workshop employing adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will be collecting non-working holiday lights for recycling at two Cass County locations Nov. 17-Jan. 26. Collection containers will be available at both the Harrisonville and Raymore Wal-Mart locations.
