Football fanatics shave-off fundraiser

December 13, 2013

Eagle Glen Intermediate School provided its own twist on “No Shave November” by conducting a “Football Fanatics Shave-Off.” Four staff members agreed to participate, with the results of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Denver Broncos game on Dec. 1 to determine the winners. If the school raised at least $100 for needy families, the losers would have the opposing team’s logo shaved onto their heads. Principal Randy Randolph and Interventionist Bill Harrington supported the Broncos, and Teachers Stephen Rew and Nathan Northcraft supported the Chiefs. Students and staff did raise more than $100 and during an assembly on Dec. 2, two stylists from Shannon’s Salon in Raymore shaved the Broncos logo onto the heads of Rew and Northcraft.
