The Pleasant Hill Young Matrons Homemakers Club

The Pleasant Hill Young Matrons Homemakers Club met in the home of Josie Hayes for the Christmas party Dec. 12. President Betty Beason led the members in the pledge to the flag. Co-hostess Louise Kohler gave the history of “Silent Night” for the devotion.

Secretary Arduth Baker read the minutes of the October meeting. Eight members answered roll call by guessing their Secret Pal. After Lil Bouchard, treasurer, gave the financial report, members voted to give donations to Hope Haven, Meals on Wheels and Pleasant Hill Love Fund.

Beason and Baker reported on the area conference they attended in Higginsville in October. Kohler, Pat Lightfoot, Bouchard and Beason gave a report on the County Council meeting they attended Dec. 4 in Harrisonville

Members signed up for hosting and co-hosting responsibilities for 2014. The president distributed 2014 Yearbooks and program materials.

Hayes will start the club’s fundraiser, the Gypsy Basket, at the January meeting.

After the the business meeting, members opened their Christmas gifts and had refreshments served by the hostess. Ruth Christain joined the club.

Next meeting will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, with Baker serving as hostess.
