• Memorial services for Bernice Whitcraft are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec 28, at Freeman Presbyterian Church. Bernice was a long-time member of the Freeman community and retired from Walmart.

• Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year.

• The Freeman Cemetery Association will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. This will be at the Freeman Community Club building and is for all who are interested in the Freeman Cemetery.

• Diana Sanders is doing well following her lung surgery and will probably be at home by the time this prints. She does not have any cancer but will be treated with some aggressive medication.

• The Walmart Retirees met Dec. 17 with a small group. Some had medical reasons and also just a busy time of the year. Jan. Brewster, Rich Hill, did make it up and that is always a treat to see her when she can come. This group meets at 11:30 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month at Diamond Rays. If you retired from Walmart or were a long-time associate, please join this group.

• We send get well wishes to Toby Wiseman, who had quite a fall last week. Fortunately, they got the bleeding stopped and there were no broken bones.

• We extend our sympathy to Natalie Madison-Ardrey on the death of her grandmother.

• Some birthdays for next week include: Dec. 28 - Blake Scholl, Wanda Griffith, Gloria Messmer and Ron Linder; Dec. 31 - Tyler Farr and John Mabary; Jan. 2 - Debbie Mincks, Dale Farr, Lindsey Burchett Long, Kelsey Thomas; Jan. 3 - Eric Linder and Norvell Kemper; Jan. 4 - Jason Kurzweil and Krosbie Smith.

• Anniversary wishes go to Jim and Janet Vannordstrand on Dec. 28.
