Pleasant Valley Homemakers

Pleasant Valley Homemakers met Dec. 5, 2013, at the home of Linda Reece for the annual Christmas party and carry-in luncheon with eight members present. After a bountiful meal, Jeanette Bartles gave the devotional, a reading “Filling My Memory Bank.” Club President Carole Raynes led in the pledge to the flag. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved and a treasurer’s report was given. Roll call was a cookie exchange, where each of us brought a plate of our favorite cookies to share with our friends.

The “Secret Pal” gift exchange and reveal was so fun with some great surprises and “thank yous” all around. New secret pal names were exchanged for the new year.

Bartles was in charge of selecting a family for us to all bring gifts to for Christmas. It was a mom and three children. The hostess gift was won by Maureen Eddleman.

The next meeting will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Senior Center.
