Harrisonville city leaders have made the decision to take a transportation sales tax questions to voters in the Tuesday, April 8 election.

The approval was made during a regular Board of Alderman meeting Jan. 6.

The proposed 0.5 percent tax increase would generate roughly $1 million annually for street, sidewalk and storm water improvements, for 10 years.

The proposal also includes a budgeted $200,000 annually to resurface every road in the city over the 10-year time-frame of the project.

Passage of the question requires a simple majority.
