Mary Sibley Chapter NSDAR and Spirit of 76 SAR

The Mary Sibley Chapter NSDAR and the Spirit of 76 SAR met for the annual Christmas luncheon Dec. 7 at Branding Iron in Harrisonville.

After the meal, the rituals of both chapters and the salute to the flags were done and a most interesting program was given on sharing items of historical interest and the stories attached by those present.

Final rituals were given and meeting adjourned with a promise to meet again next Christmas season.

The Mary Sibley Chapter will meet Saturday, Jan. 18, in the conference room of Cass Regional Medical Center. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

Glorified Homemakers Extension Club

The Glorified Homemakers Extension Club met Dec. 10 for the annual Christmas party at Harold’s Restaurant near Freeman. Secret sisters were revealed and new ones chosen for next year. Sue Pulliam read a devotional entitled “Brighten the Corner Where You Are” by Helen Steiner Rice.

Roll call was answered with “What are your plans for Christmas” by Goldie Cunningham, Sandra Colllings, Carol Witherspoon, Pulliam, Katrine Cummins and Patti Anderson.

Programs for next year were handed out. Members were given new books for the coming year. Our next meeting will be in January when we will fill out the new books.
