More than 4,000 people in Southern Jackson and Cass Counties were helped during the Christmas season by The Salvation Army.
500 needy families received food baskets for a holiday feast, children received toys and clothing, nursing home residents were visited and received gifts.
We are pleased to report that we raised $80,000 through the red kettles due to the generosity of many selfless citizens. We are so grateful for each volunteer bell ringer, toy shop helper, Angel Tree contribution and each red kettle location.
Please accept my thanks on behalf of those who were served during the Christmas season and were included in the warmth and fellowship of Salvation Army programs.
May God richly bless you throughout 2014.
