The purpose of my letter today is to say thank you to all the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Belton Regional Medical Center and the Specialists Clinic.
In February of 2013, my life took a dramatic turn when I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Over the course of the past year I have had many tests, treatments, and surgeries done at BRMC and could not be happier with the care that I have received.
The doctor and nurses in the diagnostic imaging department were so compassionate and supportive when they delivered the news to me. Dr. Stephenson and the support staff in the chemo Infusion Center have been outstanding.
I have undergone three surgical procedures under the care of Drs. Kirk and Bledsoe, two of which required an overnight stay in the hospital, and each time received superb care. Each doctor and staff member makes me feel like I am their most important patient.
In addition to the excellent care, all of my doctors have been very accommodating in the scheduling of numerous appointments. They understand that as a small business owner here in the community, it is essential that I continue to work full time and not be away from my business any longer or more often than necessary. Many of them are pet owners, so they can relate to the work that I enjoy.
During the course of my treatment, I got the opportunity to meet the hospital’s CEO, Todd Krass. He impressed me as a man genuinely concerned about the care of patients and invested in seeing this hospital grow. He is working to see that more services and specialties are brought to the community through BRMC. And while the hospital is expanding and growing they haven’t become so “corporate” as to lose sight of addressing individual patient needs.
With so many resources available to the community right here at BRMC, it made no sense for me to seek treatment at another hospital out of town.
I was fortunate enough to receive the wonderful news late last year that the cancer is in remission.
It was the excellent, aggressive, and compassionate care that I received at BRMC that helped to make this happen. Thank you again.
