Arson may have been factor in Pleasant Hill apartment fire

Pleasant Hill police are investigating a suspicious fire at an apartment complex that injured two people.

The Pleasant Hill Fire Protection District was called to a home, 1208 Broadway, at the Broadway Village Apartments at 9:30 a.m. Feb. 19.

According to a statement from police, the fire may have been set intentionally.

The apartment that was caught on fire was part of a four-plex housing unit.

A man and woman were transported to an Kansas CIty-area hospital with injuries sustained in the blaze.

The male subject had reportedly been burn and the female had minor injuries from smoke inhalation.

The housing unit received smoke and fire damage.

As of press deadline, the exact cause of the fire is still unknown, but the police department’s statement indicated that there is suspicion that arson may have been a factor in the blaze.
