Feb. 28 Community Brief

The Glorified Homemakers Extension Club met Feb. 18 at the Extension Office. The meeting was opened with the pledge to the flag led by President Sue Pulliam. Roll call, “An Old Valentine,” was answered by Patty Anderson, Carol Witherspoon, Katrine Cummins, Pulliam and Sandra Collings. A devotional entitled “The Dance,” by Thelda Bevins, was read by Witherspoon.

The minutes of last month’s meeting were read and approved. Treasurer’s report was given.

New business included announcements: Spring Fling on Wednesday, April 16. Wednesday, March 5, will be the quarterly council meeting. All members are to bring items for Hope Haven to next month’s meeting.

An interesting program, “The Art of Appreciation,” was presented by Anderson. Hostess prize was won by Witherspoon. Delicious refreshments were served by Witherspoon, Next month’s meeting will be at the extension office.
