The Belton School District will have a Senior Citizen Spring Lunch at 12 p.m. Friday, March 28, in the BHS Upper Gym. Similar to the annual Senior Citizen Thanksgiving Dinner, this free event is a cooperative effort of the school district and area businesses to show appreciation to the senior citizens in our community for their continued support. All Belton residents 55 and older are invited to attend.
A menu of baked chicken, fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, vegetable medley, Jell-O salad (made by the BHS ProStart students), rolls and cupcakes will be served. There will be baked tilapia for guests who require an alternative entrée for religious beliefs. There will be limited quantities of this entrée.
Bus transportation, provided by Crabtree Transportation, will be available from CrossRoads - The United Methodist Church in Belton at 700 Quik Trip Way beginning at 11:30 a.m. Seniors are asked to drive around the side of the church to the lower level parking lot. Because of the limited parking at the school, those attending the dinner are encouraged to take advantage of the free bus transportation. Guests are asked to enter the high school on the Sunrise side (north of the building).
